Hearts manager McInnes believes side can overcome setback and aim for championship once more
The Edinburgh team which was in front for much of the campaign lost out as Celtic netted two late goals to beat them 3 to 1 in the title showdown on Saturday.
Hearts could not fulfill their media obligations after the game since they were quickly taken away from Celtic Park after supporters invaded the pitch.
This meant McInnes who was close to ending the long dominance of Celtic and Rangers had no opportunity to comment on the season until late Sunday night.
In the cool light of morning when looking back there has been plenty of good from where the side started the season he said after receiving the Scottish Football Writers Association Manager of the Year prize.
Now the plan is to recover and enjoy the time off but prepare for what is next.
I am convinced these tasks will be handled with the positive attitude of all at the club and the wish to get better and ensure we challenge for honours more often.
Hearts achieved an unprecedented 80 points and as a result of finishing second for the first time in two decades they earn a spot in the Champions League qualifiers during July.
We will reflect and take pleasure from it but we also carry some regret which will motivate us to achieve more McInnes added.
