Guardiola aware Man City must beat 'incredible' Bournemouth to keep title hopes alive

City head to the south coast uplifted by their FA Cup success versus Chelsea at Wembley on Saturday. Antoine Semenyo who switched to City from Bournemouth during January for 65 million pounds netted the sole goal during the second half.

Such a result positioned City for a possible clean sweep of domestic trophies after their League Cup victory over Arsenal back in March. Guardiola side remain two points adrift of the top team Arsenal with two fixtures left creating a tight race for the title.

"It is a separate tournament yet it feels preferable to arrive at Bournemouth after lifting the FA Cup rather than not," Guardiola informed journalists on Monday.

"They stand 16 or 17 matches without defeat and that sequence stands out as remarkable. Our sole opportunity to claim the league requires us to secure the result so we must end their streak or the chance slips away.

"Once more this term their achievement after losing three defenders from the previous successful back line shows they still deliver."

Bournemouth who eye European spots arrive fresh after their last outing on May 9th away at Fulham.

"They enjoyed 10 days to ready themselves while chasing Champions League spots meaning they can field their strongest form," Guardiola said.

"We will ready ourselves fully aware of the task. It remains straightforward as we need victory to carry hope into the final match versus Aston Villa."

City rivals Arsenal welcome already relegated Burnley on Monday evening.

"Within England sides always produce their utmost," Guardiola noted.

"Leeds United safe from drop still visited Tottenham Hotspur and performed at a high level to claim a point. Brighton and Hove Albion fought for Europe yet Leeds prevailed the day before. I remain certain Burnley will compete."

Adding further optimism Guardiola confirmed a complete squad free from injury for the journey to sixth placed Bournemouth.
