'Exciting opportunity': Feyenoord introduce Devy Rigaux as incoming technical director
Rigaux, aged 38, previously held roles as recruitment coordinator and technical director at Club Brugge for five years. During his tenure, the Belgian side secured two domestic championships and orchestrated several high profile transfers including Ardon Jashari (€39M to AC Milan), Maxim De Cuyper (€20M to Brighton) and Chemsdine Taibi (€20M to Sunderland).
He replaces Dennis te Kloese at Feyenoord, who departed for Mexican outfit CF Monterrey. Te Kloese and head coach Robin van Persie faced significant fan criticism during the closing stages of the 2025 26 campaign, despite guiding the Rotterdam club to a runners up finish and Champions League qualification.
The new appointment will collaborate closely with Van Persie and recently installed general manager Robert Eenhoorn.
"Joining Feyenoord represents a tremendous opportunity," Rigaux commented during his introductory interview.
"De Kuip boasts excellent infrastructure, Varkenoord's youth setup produces exceptional talents, and the club has achieved notable on field success. My responsibility involves progressing these foundations further, an exhilarating prospect I'm fully committed to embracing."
Since Arne Slot's 2024 departure, Feyenoord have lifted only one piece of silverware, defeating PSV on penalties in that year's Johan Cruyff Shield.
"While departing Club Brugge proves difficult emotionally, I reflect on my time there with profound appreciation," Rigaux added.
"I've experienced all aspects of the club's excellence, gained invaluable experience and celebrated multiple triumphs. These lessons will undoubtedly benefit me at Feyenoord. I'm eagerly anticipating this new chapter."
Rigaux commences his duties on 1 June.
