Post game, Tindell and Carlsson provided unique comments to Flashscore. The US player Tindell emphasised that the tie remains wide open and highlighted the challenge of facing a well known rival while controlling the fixture.

Two common sayings spring to mind: 'its only half time' and 'one hand on the cup', which resonates more with you?

'I am absolutely the 'its only half time' type! I make a conscious effort not to count my chickens before they hatch. Having played the game for years, I know how unpredictable football can be, with its wild ups and downs, and I have seen both the highs and lows. Todays result reminded us of Hammarbys strength and their equal desire for the prize, so no, we are not gripping the trophy with one hand yet, I am aiming for a full 90 minutes in the return and then both hands firmly on it!'

Does this show that tackling a major final against a familiar team is preferable to an unpredictable foe?

'It places you in a distinct mindset. Throughout the competition, facing Inter, Breidablik, and Frankfurt felt like a mental refresh, stepping away from domestic play to encounter varied styles and opponents, which alters the preparation. But its remarkable that Hammarby and we have reached this stage, set to clash five times this season! I am struggling to process that, so I am focusing on each match individually and proceeding step by step!'

'Early on, you appeared to target their defensive trio effectively. Was that a deliberate strategy, or did it unfold naturally?'

'Our intention was to launch aggressively on enemy territory, with them hosting before their enthusiastic supporters. Credit where due, Hammarby fans are incredibly vocal. We were prepared to start powerfully, adapting to the flow, whether dominating tackles, exerting defensive effort, or exploiting spaces ahead. Essentially, we aimed to respond effectively to whatever they brought forward.'

Hammarbys second half pressure compelled you to adopt a more cautious stance, was that prioritising holding the advantage for the home return over seeking another score?

'Yes, striking that equilibrium is tricky, as retreating opens you to various threats, creating tension, yet you also crave involvement and posing danger. In the latter period, they pressed hard for a leveller, crucial on home soil in this opener. It blended safeguarding the victory, which was paramount, with our inability to penetrate as desired. Such scenarios occur, and I lack a clear explanation now, but reviewing the footage should reveal insights.'

You mention its just the interval, yet you must feel positive about the upcoming home fixture?

'I appreciate completing the away leg initially, leaving the home advantage, which aids greatly. I trust our squad; we unite to deliver robust performances and secure wins, a pleasing outcome, but I would not claim its guaranteed, far from it!'

Following the setback in the initial leg, Hammarby captain Alice Carlsson offered limited remarks, though the experienced 30 year old feels enhancing finishing in promising positions will be vital for reversing the scoreline in the return on Friday 1st May.

Your defence looked vulnerable at the start, was that the decisive factor?

'We are aware their forwards possess pace, so containing them is essential, but they are skilled athletes.'

As leader, what instructions did you give at the break or in play, since you stabilised defensively and generated threats afterwards?

'Simply to persist, retain possession, and force them back, enabling us to build opportunities.'

With the final halfway done, how assured are you of mounting a comeback?

'We carry several elements into Fridays clash, as we generated opportunities, albeit few, so greater precision inside the area will be key next outing.'
