Chelsea risk losing key players without Champions League qualification

Chelsea have entered a troubling phase of poor performances which is mounting pressure on their young manager Liam Rosenior while the season risks falling apart completely.

They now find themselves below the top five spots in the Premier League so their best chance to rescue things might involve winning the FA Cup.

In the background however there appears to be growing worry about where things are heading.

The team is gearing up for some changes in the squad over the summer period with individuals like Tosin Adarabioyo Benoit Badiashile and Liam Delap set to be put up for transfer.

That said the bigger issue revolves around the possible departure of important stars. Real Madrid have shown interest in Enzo Fernandez following his recent ban from the club and reports suggest that squad mainstays Cole Palmer and Marc Cucurella are starting to feel discontented at Chelsea.

The latest matches have not helped calm the nerves since the side has secured only a single Premier League triumph over the last eight weeks and their other successes have been versus teams from lower divisions such as Wrexham and Port Vale in the cups.

On the surface the club remains supportive of Rosenior who took on a six year contract when he stepped in for Enzo Maresca back in January.

Behind closed doors though questions are emerging and it seems Chelsea are already looking at possible replacements including ex player Cesc Fabregas who is now in charge at Italian club Como.

Matters are coming to a head in the lead up to this weekends Premier League encounter against traditional opponents Manchester United amid planned demonstrations by supporters over the owners and the clubs football setup.

The worries go further than just the on pitch outcomes and without a quick improvement by seasons close Chelsea might face a switch in leadership along with efforts to hold onto their top talents.
