Chelsea Icon Sam Kerr Set to Depart Club at Season's Close

Sam Kerr leaves Chelsea as the club's fourth leading player in terms of matches played, having featured in 157 games, and she netted 115 goals during her time there, just one short of Fran Kirby's overall club record. Over her tenure, she secured five Women's Super League championships, three FA Cups, and three League Cups, contributing to an era of consistent triumphs on the home front.

"Looking back on my time at Chelsea and knowing it's coming to an end, I simply feel joyful," Kerr shared before her last match for the team this Saturday, as Chelsea welcome Manchester United.

"I'm incredibly thankful for the six years I've spent representing this club and collecting as many honours as possible."

The captain of Australia claimed the WSL Golden Boot on two occasions and came runner-up in the 2023 Ballon d'Or rankings prior to an ACL injury that kept her out for 20 months. She made her comeback this term by scoring her 100th goal for Chelsea.

This season, the 32 year old has tallied 16 goals across 29 outings and established herself as Chelsea's record WSL goalscorer with 64 strikes, following her strike against Leicester City earlier this month.
