Brandon Thomas-Asante receives Ghana's iconic number 10 shirt for 2026 World Cup
According to FIFA's official squad list, Brandon Thomas-Asante will don the famous Ghana number 10 shirt at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Coventry City forward takes on a shirt number associated with some of the most distinguished names in Ghanaian football history. It was last worn at a World Cup by Andre Ayew in Qatar 2022.
Several other squad number selections stand out. Augustine Boakye has been given the number 20 jersey, which Mohammed Kudus wore at the 2022 World Cup. Because Kudus has been ruled out of the 2026 tournament with an injury, the Saint-Etienne midfielder will now wear that number in North America.
Antoine Semenyo, the Manchester City forward in fine form, retains his number 11 jersey.
World Cup newcomer Abdul Mumin will wear the number 6 shirt, marking his return to the international scene after a lengthy recovery from an ACL injury.
Teenage prodigy Caleb Yirenkyi has been assigned the number 3 shirt, while late replacement Derrick Luckassen will take the number 23 jersey.
