Bernardo Silva announces exit from Manchester City following current campaign
Bernardo Silva is wrapping up his ninth year with Manchester City, having arrived from Monaco during the 2017/18 season.
The 31 year old Portuguese midfielder has featured in 451 competitive fixtures for the Premier League outfit, ranking him sixth among the players with the highest number of games for the club.
"Nine years back when I first came here, I was chasing the dreams of a young lad eager to make it big and accomplish remarkable feats. This city and its team have delivered far beyond my wildest expectations.
"Our shared triumphs form a lasting legacy etched in my memory. From the Centurions to the domestic quadruple, the Treble, Four In A Row, and beyond, it has been quite the journey.
"Soon it will be time to bid farewell to the place where we secured countless victories on the pitch, and where I began building my family life. With all my heart, Ines and Carlota, thank you so much!" Silva shared via social media.
A graduate of Benfica's youth setup, Bernardo Silva departed Lisbon in 2014 for Monaco. Following three years in the French club, he transferred to Manchester City, where he is now concluding his ninth and last term, with accolades including a Champions League crown and six Premier League victories.
This term, serving as captain, he has appeared in 44 competitive outings, netting three times and setting up five more.
