Athletic Bilbao hire former Borussia Dortmund manager Edin Terzic

The ex-Borussia Dortmund manager has agreed to a contract running until 2028, stepping in for Ernesto Valverde while Athletic Bilbao holds eighth position in La Liga.

The 43-year-old heads to the Basque region boasting a track record of guiding squads that deliver rapid, offensive styles of play.

His spell at Dortmund featured a DFB-Pokal win in 2021 alongside reaching the Champions League showpiece in 2024, ending in a 2-0 defeat against Real Madrid.

The German has remained unemployed following his exit from Dortmund after the 2023-24 term wrapped up.
