The Thai League 1, also referred to simply as TL1, is the highest division of the Thai football league system. Formed in 1996, the championship boasts a promotion/relegation system with the Thai League 2, with the top-flight’s worst performers dropping down to the second division. The season typically kicks off in February/March.
