Superliga: Brondby End Tough Run with Six Goal Rout of Sonderjyske

Brondby secured a victory on Friday evening, snapping a poor run of form that has positioned them sixth in the Danish Superliga, by putting six goals past Sonderjyske without conceding any at their home ground.

Following a VAR decision to disallow Brondbys initial effort after 14 minutes for offside, the hosts went ahead in the 25th minute as Mats Köhlert nodded Sho Fukudas lengthy pass across the goalmouth, allowing Jacob Ambaek to direct a precise header beyond Sonderjyske goalkeeper Nicolai Flo.

Brondby soon made it two nil against the cautious away team using a comparable approach, with Köhlert once more assisting Ambaek, who simply tapped the ball into an empty net.

Just before half time, Brondby extended their advantage to three when Fukudas attempted strike fell to Nicolai Vallys, who easily slotted it home.

The scoring spree resumed eight minutes into the second half as Ambaek notched his treble, volleying a pinpoint effort past Flo after Mads Frøkjaer floated a cross to the far post.

In the 57th minute, Ben Godfrey found himself free in the penalty area to convert for 5-0, before Fukuda capped his outstanding display. Frøkjaer carved through the Sonderjyske defence with an excellent pass, and Fukuda slipped the ball into the space beside Flo for the final 6-0 scoreline.
