Malmo dismiss head coach Ramirez after just nine league games
Ramirez departs with the Swedish giants languishing in 12th place, having secured only 10 points from their opening nine fixtures and suffering four consecutive defeats.
The 3-2 loss against newly promoted Vasteras at Eleda Stadium on Sunday 24th May, which prompted supporter unrest, marked the decisive moment for the club's board, ending the Spaniard's brief spell in charge.
Appointed last December after a underwhelming 2025 campaign that saw Malmo miss out on European qualification and part ways with previous title winning manager Henrik Rydstrom, Ramirez managed 15 matches across all competitions, recording six victories, one draw and eight losses.
Assistant manager Endika Gavina and performance director Cristobal Fuentes have also been relieved of their duties.
Malmo face Halmstad at home on Saturday 30th in their last match before the World Cup break. Interim coaches Guillermo Molins and Mario Chavez will aim to halt the team's poor form against one of the few sides below Himmelsblatt in the standings.
