How newly crowned Danish champions AGF can qualify for the Champions League

AGF will start in the second qualifying round for the Champions League, and the Aarhus team will remain unseeded across the key phases of the tournament owing to their minimal UEFA coefficient score.

During the second round, AGF might encounter sides like the Serbian club Crvena Zvezda, known as Red Star Belgrade, the Croatian outfit Dinamo Zagreb, or the Cypriot team Omonia Nicosia, whereas clubs such as the Slovak group Slovan Bratislava and the Slovenian team NK Celje are tipped to progress from the initial qualifying stage.

In the event that AGF are eliminated in the second round of Champions League qualification, they will drop into the third round of Europa League qualification. Should they suffer defeat there too, they will have a final shot at entering a European group stage via the playoff stage of Conference League qualification.

Assuming AGF progress beyond the second round in Champions League qualification, they could join the third round possibly as a seeded side. This stems from the fact that the draws for the third round occur prior to the completion of the second round, so the top seeded participant in the pairings serves as the baseline.

At this stage, they might clash with fellow victors from the second round of Champions League qualification, meaning sides such as Red Star, Dinamo Zagreb, and Omonia Nicosia could reappear as potential adversaries.

Upon exiting the third round of Champions League qualification, AGF would proceed to the playoff round of Europa League qualification. Success in that would guarantee entry into the Europa League league phase, yet a loss would direct them to the Conference League league phase.

Reaching the ultimate playoff round in Champions League qualification would see AGF unseeded once more.

In this phase, they are expected to confront a squad that has navigated earlier qualifiers, or the Norwegian title holders Viking, or the leading clubs from Greece, Scotland, or Austria, which at present include AEK Athens, Hearts, and LASK Linz.

If AGF fail to secure Champions League qualification here, they would instead gain access to the Europa League league phase.
