While some USA fans rattled off the correct answers and easily named the last three World Cup champions (Germany, France, Argentina), others gave us pure improvisation. One fan was absolutely convinced that Spain won the last tournament against Germany!

"MLS is growing incredibly fast, the arrival of Messi and new teams like San Diego have helped, but there’s still a huge gap between the American approach and European football culture," summed up one of the quiz participants.

Caribbean Cinderella story: Curacao make history!

The highlight of the day wasn’t just the Americans, but also the fans from the island of Curacao. The small Caribbean island team are making their tournament debut. For the locals, just being in Houston was a dream come true.

"This is an indescribable moment for us. I’ve been watching football since I was a child. I used to watch it with my grandfather and grandmother, who unfortunately, are no longer with us. Today, they would be jumping for joy. Whether we win, lose, or draw, it doesn’t matter. We’ve already won just by being here," one of the islanders explained with tears in his eyes.
