The Categoría Primera B is the second level of men’s professional football in Colombia. It was founded in 1991 and is under the organization of DIMAYOR and CONMEBOL. Teams from the Categoría Primera B are eligible to participate in the annual Copa Colombia (Colombian Cup), and the top performing teams gain promotion to the Primera A at the conclusion of each system.
Atlético Huila, Cúcuta Deportivo, and Boyacá Chicó are among the most successful teams in Primera B history.
