Would the championship-winning coach Ouaddou depart from Orlando Pirates?
The Pirates secured the league title for the first time in 14 years this past Saturday after defeating Orbit College 2-0 at Mbombela Stadium, simultaneously condemning their opponents to relegation.
This victory marks a significant achievement for Moroccan coach Ouaddou, yet he openly acknowledged the possibility of his departure from the club.
“I dedicate myself with passion and love, but leading a massive club like Orlando Pirates is no easy feat. This season has been incredibly taxing, and I am exhausted, utterly exhausted,” he expressed.
“I will take time to reflect and discuss with the management. I am drained. We need to evaluate the next steps and配置文件plans.
“I require vitality and drive. Without these, continuing will be a challenge. These words come from the heart—it’s been an arduous year filled with immense pressure.”
He also reflected on the historic achievement of ending Pirates' lengthy title drought, narrowly surpassing the seemingly unbeatable Mamelodi Sundowns by just one point.
“Our fans have waited 14 years—an eternity in football. Today, we owe this triumph to our players, who battled tirelessly to bring happiness to our supporters.”
“My heart goes out to every Pirates fan across South Africa. Their unwavering support throughout this demanding season was extraordinary. Credit must go to the players and the entire club.
“Personally, I am overjoyed to have delivered jubilation to millions today. They’ve earned this moment.”
In addition to the league title, Pirates clinched the MTN8 and Carling Knockout trophies this season.
