La Persian Gulf Pro League è la massima serie del campionato iraniano di calcio. Questa competizione, una volta conosciuta come Persian Gulf Cup, è stata fondata nel 1970 ma è diventata una lega professionistica solo dal 2001. La stagione inizia generalmente a luglio/agosto e si conclude ad aprile/marzo dell'anno successivo. La lega adotta un sistema di promozione e retrocessione: le ultime due squadre in classifica a fine stagione retrocedono nella Azadegan League, la seconda divisione iraniana.
