No doubting Man City boss Guardiola's passion says Toure

Pep Guardiola remains as driven and excited as always in his pursuit to reclaim the Premier League crown, according to Manchester City assistant Kolo Toure.

The City manager is now entering his tenth year leading the team at the Etihad, keen to resume winning major honours after a trophyless campaign last term that left his impressive tally unchanged.

With the side trailing Premier League frontrunners Arsenal by only two points, Toure, who linked up with Guardiola's coaching team ahead of the current season, has been struck by the boss's relentless hunger for victories, even after his remarkable accomplishments in the sport.

"His energy levels each day are astonishing," Toure shared with journalists on Friday.

"I am genuinely amazed, considering the number of years he has spent in the competition. The enthusiasm he injects into every session and practice, he clearly relishes it all, and so do we."

The ex City centre-back continued: "You notice it during matches too. Regardless of the scoreline, there's a strong team morale, plenty of vigour, and we battle for possession relentlessly."

Toure stepped in for Guardiola during the media briefing ahead of City's Premier League clash at Crystal Palace, as the head coach could not make it owing to a private issue. Nevertheless, the club anticipates Guardiola will take his regular role at Selhurst Park come Sunday.

"Pep is okay," Toure assured. "It was merely a minor issue keeping him away today."

The former Ivory Coast star Toure lifted the Premier League trophy with Arsenal, then starred in City's victorious 2012 squad.

At 44, he went on to represent Liverpool and Celtic, then transitioned to management with a short stint at Wigan. He rejoined the game via City's youth setup, earning a step up under Guardiola.

"Teaming up with Pep Guardiola was always my aspiration," Toure reflected. "Joining the senior squad has been an absolute privilege.

"Each day feels special. He adores his squad and team, his dedication to football burns bright, he is fully committed. We all admire him greatly. I feel truly fortunate."
