Thomas Frank unconcerned by silverware demands at Tottenham
Thomas Frank stated that he feels equipped to cope with the demands of delivering trophies at Tottenham while gearing up for the teams League Cup campaign launch against Doncaster on Wednesday.
Although numerous Premier League counterparts employ the League Cup to introduce young talents, Frank has committed to selecting a robust lineup for the third round encounter with the third division side Doncaster in London.
Frank recognises that Tottenham's Europa League victory under his predecessor Ange Postecoglou from the previous season has heightened supporters aspirations.
Postecoglou departed despite halting Tottenham's 17 year wait for a trophy due to overseeing the clubs poorest Premier League position since the 1976 77 campaign.
Achieving better than that 17th spot holds key importance for Frank during his debut year following his move from Brentford, yet adding further accolades to the collection would undoubtedly enhance his reputation.
"I fully recognise the level of expectation," Frank remarked. "It comes down to striking the right equilibrium. My aim is for us to reach a stage where we vie for success across all four competitions over the course of the season.
"To truly challenge in every competition, we must possess the depth to consistently choose the optimal squad."
Tottenham's previous League Cup triumph dates back to 2008, with their latest FA Cup win occurring in 1991.
The club has not secured the English league title since 1961.
Frank has secured victories in three of his initial five domestic matches and commenced Tottenham's Champions League efforts with a win over Villarreal.
The Danish manager will miss Ben Davies and Randal Kolo Muani for the Doncaster fixture, although Dominic Solanke might feature from the substitutes following the England forwards training session on Tuesday.
"We understand that no individual can participate in 60 full 90 minute matches. Thus, maintaining the proper rotation balance is essential across the season, not just for this matchup against Doncaster," Frank explained regarding his approach.
"Achieving the ideal squad depth for rotation alongside a competitive starting eleven remains vital. Expect a formidable team out there."
