'These kinds of players you get every 10 or 15 years' - Ouaddou on Orlando Pirates star

Mofokeng has reached 10 goals across all competitions this term, following a gradual beginning to the season where his form truly ignited in January. Remarkably, each of his nine league strikes has occurred after the new year, within his most recent 10 outings. 

The 21-year-old moreover achieved his inaugural professional hat-trick during the prior league match versus TS Galaxy ahead of the international break, and nearly repeated the feat on Tuesday, also hitting the post.

“I tend not to discuss players on a personal level, as I consistently emphasise that personal endeavours must support the team's overall goals,” Ouaddou remarked.

“Yet since you posed the query, I must note that talents like this emerge only once every decade or so. 

“He possesses innate ability. It's part of who he is, and he's quite youthful. Naturally, we must offer guidance to enhance his effectiveness, particularly in those contested zones (on the pitch) filled with challenges. It's quite congested,” the manager continued.

“Regarding his skills, his technique is spot on, and his game sense is sharp, though at times with such exceptional attributes, one might not fully harness them. Our role involves guiding him to recognise key zones on the field where he should minimise contact and apply his astuteness. 

“He has demonstrated this in numerous matches lately. Observe how he provides passes to colleagues. He scores effectively, and his movement in central areas is impressive. 

“Certain observers believe he is unsuitable for the No. 10 role. In my view, he can adapt to any position. Well … perhaps excluding defence!” Ouaddou quipped.

Mofokeng is set to feature next as Pirates face Richards Bay in the league on Friday, with victory restoring them to the summit of the Betway Premiership standings.
