Manchester United reveals pre-season fixtures in Sweden and Finland

Manchester United are set to travel to Sweden for encounters with two teams well positioned to advance to the semi-finals in this years UEFA Champions League, namely Paris Saint-Germain and Atletico Madrid.

The club will take on the Spanish outfit at Solnas Strawberry Arena on 1st August, followed by a trip a week afterwards to Gothenburgs Gamla Ullevi to meet the reigning European champions on 8th August.

Prior to these Swedish visits, United head to Helsinkis Olympic Stadium on 18th July to face EFL Championship outfit Wrexham, the Welsh team co-owned by Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, whose ascent from the fifth division of English football has been captured in the Netflix series "Welcome to Wrexham".

"We have been planning this for some time, and it feels great to bring it all together now," commented Joel Harkimo, the individual responsible for arranging the Helsinki fixture.

Whether Wrexham remain in the Championship by the time of their Finnish clash is uncertain, as they still have a shot at the play-offs and potential promotion to the Premier League this term.

Furthermore, the identity of the Manchester United manager on the touchline for these pre-season games is unclear, with Michael Carrick continuing in his temporary role at the helm.

Manchester United have additionally confirmed pre-season friendlies against Leeds United in Dublin, Ireland, and Rosenborg in Trondheim, Norway.
