Man City's Haaland makes Premier League history with 100th goal

Erling Haaland etched his name into the record books during Manchester City's match against Fulham on Tuesday, becoming the quickest player to hit the 100-goal mark in the Premier League.

The forward notched his landmark strike with a sharp finish midway through the opening period at Craven Cottage, achieving the feat in only 111 top-flight outings for the club.

At 25 years old, Haaland surpassed the benchmark established by ex-Newcastle and Blackburn forward Alan Shearer, who required 124 fixtures to amass a century of goals.

Having joined from Borussia Dortmund back in 2022, the striker had endured a brief barren spell without finding the net in his last three encounters versus Newcastle, Bayer Leverkusen, and Leeds.

This latest achievement shattered that run and added another highlight to his impressive tenure at City.

Among his 100 strikes, 71 were delivered with his left boot while 17 came via headers.

Haaland showcased exquisite skill to give City the lead in the 17th minute versus Fulham, marking his 15th Premier League goal of the campaign and his 20th across all tournaments.

Jeremy Doku supplied the pass with an accurate pull-back, allowing Haaland to time his movement impeccably before firing a powerful shot from 12 yards that flew beyond Fulham goalkeeper Bernd Leno.

Haaland remains some distance from eclipsing Shearer's premier accomplishment, as the ex-England skipper owns the league's highest-ever tally of 260 goals.
