Late Kieron Bowie strike rescues draw for relegated Verona at champions Inter

After claiming a domestic double in the cup final during midweek Inter were expected to ease off. However they did not push for the lead straight away as Sommer had to keep out Bowie's header which took a deflection.

Inter took time at the end to salute departing players including Darmian and Sommer as they kept applying pressure.

Mosconi sent an effort wide in pursuit of a maiden senior goal while Sucic saw a shot cleared off the line by Edmundsson.

A late surprise arrived when Bowie caught them out shifting onto his left foot to curl into the far corner from distance.

Chivu will feel let down that his players could not secure another home success over Verona and a chance to match a strong seasonal win record slipped away. The point leaves Verona almost clear of the bottom ahead of the final day though Sammarco and his staff must regroup for life in Serie B next term.
