Kane May Extend Bayern Stay as Premier League Interest Wanes

Harry Kane is contemplating prolonging his time at Bayern Munich after stating that his desire to return to the Premier League has diminished.

The forward has begun the season strongly at Bayern, netting 18 goals across 10 matches to support the German champions' pursuit of retaining the Bundesliga title.

The 32-year-old, having scored 103 goals in 106 appearances for Bayern, remains contracted to Munich until 2027 and is wholly committed ahead of potential discussions about an extended deal.

"Remaining longer is something I can certainly envision," stated Kane, who has joined the England squad for a friendly against Wales and a World Cup qualifier in Latvia.

"I mentioned recently that such discussions with Bayern have not taken place, but should they arise, I would be open to engaging in a straightforward dialogue.

"Naturally, this hinges on how the upcoming year unfolds and our collective accomplishments. At present, I feel we are experiencing an excellent period and my focus is solely on the current situation."

Following his departure from Tottenham in 2023, it was anticipated that the striker would return to England in an effort to surpass the Premier League's all-time goalscoring record.

He requires 48 more goals to surpass Alan Shearer's tally of 260.

Tottenham manager Thomas Frank recently expressed his desire to welcome the club's top scorer back to north London.

"Regarding the Premier League, it is uncertain. Had you posed this question when I initially moved to Bayern, I would have been certain about returning," added Kane, who is reported to have a £57 million ($66 million) release clause in his Bayern contract.

"Having spent a couple of years there, I would now suggest this possibility has decreased somewhat, though I cannot rule out a return entirely.

"My career has taught me that various opportunities arise at different times, and circumstances align accordingly. Reiterating my earlier stance, I am completely committed to Bayern at this moment."

Bayern Munich's sporting director Christoph Freund recently remarked that his team is "likely observing the finest form of Harry Kane to date".

Kane secured the Bundesliga title with Bayern last season, marking his first major trophy after a long wait, and this achievement has motivated England's all-time top goalscorer to enhance his performance further.

"Winning a title such as last year's might typically lead one to think, 'I have achieved my goal'," Kane stated.

"Instead, it has spurred me to strive for greater achievements and improve further. I believe this year's performances demonstrate that.

"I was curious about my feelings following trophy success. Naturally, I still have numerous ambitions, including securing additional and more significant titles."
