Inter Milan forward Bonny switches international allegiance to Ivory Coast ahead of World Cup
Born in France Bonnys application to alter his international football affiliation from France where he featured for the under 21 team two years previously has been approved by FIFA the global football authority on Friday.
The 22 year old Bonny has Ivorian ancestry and is anticipated to join their 26 player World Cup squad.
He contributed to Inters Serie A championship victory this season acting as an impactful substitute for the Italian side with five goals in the league.
Ivory Coast have been placed in World Cup Group E alongside Ecuador Germany and Curacao.
Bonny may earn his first appearance prior to the competition as the Ivorian team plays a friendly against France in Lens on 4 June.
