'I could ask for a morning match': French Open sensation Kouame feeling the pressure for PSG's UCL final

The 17-year-old Kouame has been the star of the French Open after becoming the youngest tennis player since 1989 to reach the third round of the clay court Grand Slam. Kouame beat Adolfo Vallejo after 4 hours and 59 minutes on Thursday to continue his fairy-tale run in Paris.

In an interview with TNT Sports after his second-round match, Kouame, a devoted Paris Saint-Germain supporter, was asked what he would do if his third-round match was scheduled at the same time as the UEFA Champions League final, in which PSG will face Arsenal on Saturday at 18.00 CET.

A nervous Kouame paused for a moment before replying and then devising a potential solution: "I could ask for a morning match, to be honest," he said.

"I truly want to watch the final. It's a major match for Paris Saint-Germain and for me as a Paris Saint-Germain supporter. But in a sense, I'm extremely confident, so if I'm playing at the same time, I know the team will get the job done."

Kouame is scheduled to play 36th-ranked Alejandro Tabilo in the third round of the French Open. Saturday's schedule of play will be announced later on Friday afternoon.
