Fenerbahce dismiss head coach Domenico Tedesco following derby loss to Galatasaray

Domenico Tedesco, formerly at the helm for Belgium, stepped in for Jose Mourinho back in September, but he will not finish the current season.

The 3-0 setback against Galatasaray on Sunday has effectively crushed Fenerbahces dreams of claiming their first Super Lig crown since 2014, as they now trail their local opponents by seven points with just three fixtures left this season.

The tense clash featured Fenerbahce midfielder Talisca botching a first-half spot-kick while the scores were level, and goalkeeper Ederson getting his marching orders during the latter stages.

In an official club release, Fenerbahce announced the dismissal of sporting director Devin Ozek and football coordinator Berke Celebi too, with assistant coach Zeki Murat Gole set to step up in Tedescas place until the seasons close.
