Cole Palmer Ready for Chelseas Top Clash with Arsenal Following Injury Absence

Cole Palmer is prepared to feature from the outset in Chelseas key encounter against Premier League frontrunners Arsenal this weekend, having been sidelined for over two months, according to manager Enzo Maresca on Friday.

The England international has been absent from club action since September 20, first due to a groin issue and then a broken toe.

During his pre match briefing, Maresca confirmed that Palmer is in condition to start Sundays fixture at Stamford Bridge.

Victory for the Blues in second place would narrow the gap to the league leaders to merely three points.

"All are delighted, his fellow players are pleased, we are all pleased, and above all Cole is pleased since players ultimately crave match time," remarked the Chelsea head coach.

At 23, Palmer emerged as Chelseas leading Premier League goalscorer last term with 15 strikes.

This campaign, he has appeared in only four outings across all tournaments for the side, netting two goals.

"He is likely our standout performer," Maresca noted. "We are glad he is returning. We must allow him time to reach full fitness.

"Yet he excelled previously and undoubtedly will contribute greatly to the club ahead."

Brazilian prodigy Estevao netted an impressive individual effort in Chelseas 3 0 triumph over Barcelona in the Champions League midweek, enhancing his profile.

Maresca conceded that combining Palmer with the 18 year old Estevao holds great appeal.

"It hinges on the opponent and the tactical approach, yet certainly supporters are eager to see them paired," he commented.

"We share that excitement, while remembering the need for equilibrium."

Maresca, who secured the UEFA Conference League and Club World Cup in his debut season at Chelsea, indicated his squad has advanced over the last year though it remains premature to forecast a title bid.

"Undoubtedly its altered from a year back, owing to another year as a unit," he explained. "We navigated phases that offered lessons. Still, in my view its quite early.

"With late November and December upon us, its premature, and crucial to maintain our position come March and April, then assess."
