Arteta delighted as Arsenal sustain title hopes following emphatic victory against Fulham
"It tells us and our squad that the dream remains intact," Arteta remarked to journalists.
"The achievements of these players, not just lately but across the entire campaign, securing so many victories under the challenges we faced, often without key squad members, is truly impressive."
Arsenal regained their flair in front of goal during a dominant opening period against Fulham, with Bukayo Saka back to form and new arrival Viktor Gyokores producing what could be his standout display for the team.
The campaign appeared to falter after the League Cup final setback to Manchester City in March, followed by an FA Cup quarter-final exit to Championship side Southampton, halting their quadruple ambitions.
Consecutive league defeats, including another to Manchester City, allowed rivals to pull ahead, and Arsenal lost their Premier League summit position for the first time since October after City defeated Burnley recently.
With only three losses in 49 matches across all tournaments, four reversals in eight outings raised doubts over Arsenal's resolve and their capacity to claim a significant honour since the 2020 FA Cup, Arteta's sole major success.
Yet Arsenal overcame their recent inconsistencies and the fatigue from Wednesday's Champions League semi-final opener versus Atletico Madrid, extending their lead to six points atop the Premier League via a convincing 3-0 triumph over Fulham.
Arsenal started strongly on Saturday, grabbing an early advantage and maintaining control, fostering an uplifting vibe at the Emirates Stadium that motivated the squad, according to Arteta.
"Sensing that bond with the supporters makes us far stronger," he explained. "It must originate from our side.
"Today it definitely did, yet we must find a way to spark it, even if the team lacks the ideal motivation."
The team led comfortably at halftime following what Arteta called one of their finest opening 45 minutes this term, enabling substitutions for mainstays ahead of Tuesday's Atletico clash, including Saka at the interval and Gyokores plus Declan Rice near the 60th minute.
Arteta urged his players to carry the confidence from Saturday into the midweek fixture, as they stand four, or perhaps five, matches from potential glory.
"Channel that drive, vitality, and conviction into Tuesday," he stated. "We will absolutely require it.
"Observing the mood in the changing room, it feels on course for success."
