Vinicius Junior eager to bring Real Madrid form to Brazil before World Cup

The season for the 25 year old winger has featured stark contrasts. He encountered challenges at the outset of the 2025/26 term, suffering a barren run of 16 games without finding the net and hearing disapproval from some supporters at the Bernabeu.

That difficult phase is well and truly in the past. Vinicius has rediscovered his groove, bagging 17 goals and setting up 13 more in 43 outings for Real across every competition this term.

Even with a dazzling club record boasting two Champions League victories and three La Liga crowns, Vinicius has netted just eight times in 45 outings for the five time world champions, yet he remains committed to transforming his potential into worldwide trophies with another World Cup looming.

"I feel more relaxed, I am happier, and when I am happier, those around me feel happier and more assured as well," Vinicius shared with journalists before Thursdays friendly against France.

"I hope to replicate everything I achieve at Real with the Brazil squad. That stands as my top ambition. It is the place I have always aspired to shine, and I aim to deliver immense pride to our nation along with widespread joy for everyone."

Brazil seek a fresh wave of triumphs following their last eight defeat in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, where penalties saw them knocked out by Croatia.

Vinicius nonetheless emphasised tuning out outside distractions as the big event nears.

"I understand my abilities and the effort I have invested to prepare for the World Cup," he continued.
