Viktor Gyokeres Eager to Maintain Scoring Form After Arsenal's Champions League Triumph

Viktor Gyokeres has voiced his determination to heed manager Mikel Artetas encouragement by carrying his recent scoring surge into Premier League matches, following his standout showing against Atletico Madrid on Tuesday.

The forward broke a streak of seven matches without finding the net by netting a brace in Arsenals dominant 4-0 win over Atletico in the Champions League at the Emirates Stadium.

This elevates the 27 year olds goal count for the Gunners to five since his 58 million pound (77 million dollar) switch from Sporting Lisbon, where he struck 97 times across 102 outings.

Arsenals head coach Arteta has urged Gyokeres to sustain his scoring run, ahead of the teams return to league play hosting London foes Crystal Palace at the Emirates this Sunday.

"Im even hungrier at this point," Gyokeres remarked. "Everyone aims to deliver through effort and various contributions, yet adding goals makes it particularly rewarding. Thats precisely what I strive for consistently.

"The teams unity and atmosphere stand out as unique and truly remarkable.

"Securing victories and delivering such displays fosters team confidence. Belief must remain constant, yet these moments certainly amplify it. We aim to continue in this vein."

Arsenal have claimed success in their opening three European fixtures this campaign, each featuring a shutout.

Across their initial 12 games, they have allowed just three goals total, shipped away at defending champions Liverpool and Newcastle, plus at home to Manchester City, only one of which stemmed from open play.

Arsenals keeper David Raya, who has notched five straight clean sheets, commented: "Clean sheets hold equal value to goals in my view.

"Maintaining shutouts simplifies securing wins. Its vital for the entire squad to limit opportunities and stay exceptionally solid.

"Our squads versatility is outstanding. Numerous players can fill two, three, or even four roles.

"(Mikel) Merino substituted as a forward (versus Atletico), yet he can operate as a deep midfielder, box to box, or attacking midfielder, offering the variety our manager employs to our benefit.

"This enhances our sessions and matches, as complacency risks your place, and all are aligned with that mindset."

League frontrunners Arsenal approach this weekends slate holding a three point edge on second placed Manchester City.

Liverpool sit one point further back.
