Uruguay midfielder De Arrascaeta in doubt for World Cup after collarbone fracture

The 31 year old player joined the Brazilian club back in 2019 and suffered an injury following a tackle in the opening half of Wednesdays Group A encounter before being replaced on the pitch.

"Arrascaeta was transported to hospital and tests revealed a break in his right collarbone," stated Flamengo on their official site.

The current title holders Flamengo hold the lead in the group standings having earned seven points across their three outings.

Uruguays World Cup journey kicks off on June 15th against Saudi Arabia in Group H which gives Arrascaeta roughly six weeks for rehabilitation.
