Tudor has 'no time for excuses' at Tottenham

Tottenham's interim manager Igor Tudor stated on Tuesday that the teams current precarious standing in the Premier League cannot be tolerated, as he seeks to prevent a fight against relegation.

The ex-Juventus manager has taken over until the seasons close, following Spurs drop to 16th place under Thomas Frank, dismissed last week.

Tudor is set for a tough challenge at home against top of the table Arsenal in the north London derby this Sunday.

However, he emphasised that excuses are not an option, even with an extensive list of injuries that affected Franks eight month period in charge.

"I need to be, with my staff, very intelligent to find the best possible way in a very short time," Tudor shared with Tottenham's internal media outlet.

"I'm coming here knowing that situation is not easy. There is no time to find excuses. What I said from the first day here, each of us, need to give something more, something extra."

Spurs hold a five point lead over West Ham in their effort to stay up.

Yet the Hammers have gained seven additional points compared to Tottenham in the last eight league matches, showing improvement under Nuno Espirito Santo.

In comparison, Spurs have only secured two victories in their previous 17 league fixtures.

"The position of the club in this moment is one that nobody can accept," Tudor continued, having been let go by Juventus earlier this season after seven months at the helm.

"Every Tottenham fan cannot accept the situation. We are aware of that. But it's not enough to just be aware of that.

"The situation is not easy because we have a lot of injured players, so we need first to find the best system to suit the players that are available in this moment."

Team captain Cristian Romero will sit out due to suspension for the Arsenal clash, and players like James Maddison, Dejan Kulusevski, Mohammed Kudus, Richarlison, Rodrigo Bentancur, and Lucas Bergvall are expected to be sidelined by injuries.
