Torino eyes former Italy coach Gennaro Gattuso amid slump in results
Gattuso resigned as Italy's coach early in April following their failure to reach the 2026 World Cup.
The decisive penalty loss to Bosnia and Herzegovina in the play-offs ended his tenure for the 48-year-old, who managed for a mere nine months after taking charge in June 2025.
Just one month after leaving the nation with four World Cup triumphs, Gattuso has a potential new position on the horizon. Tuttosport reports that Torino is interested in hiring the ex-AC Milan player to succeed Roberto D'Aversa.
Should the move happen, Gattuso would get a three-year deal at the Stadio Olimpico Grande, with president Urbano Cairo known to admire the Italian greatly.
Torino has faced a tough season in Serie A, occupying 13th place and lagging 21 points behind any European qualification spot.
