Thomas Frank assured of Tottenham backing after loss to Newcastle
Tottenham manager Thomas Frank is convinced that he will continue to have the backing of the club's directors even amid growing demands for the Danish coach to depart following a narrow 2-1 loss against Newcastle on Tuesday evening.
The team has now dropped to 16th spot in the Premier League table, only five points clear of the drop zone with 12 matches left to play.
Their next outing is not until 12 days from now when they welcome local competitors and table toppers Arsenal to their stadium.
Frank revealed that he had discussions with the club's leadership on Monday and anticipates no alterations in their stance ahead of the upcoming north London clash.
"We realise our current standing is not ideal and we must exhaust every effort to climb out of it," stated the ex-Brentford manager.
"I get the anger and the simplest reaction is to blame me. That comes with the territory regrettably.
"I am committed to working relentlessly to reverse our fortunes although it is a collective effort. Without question we all have to step up and I must contribute to that change."
Tottenham have secured victory in only two of their 13 league fixtures at home this campaign and they face a challenging schedule ahead including away visits to title contenders Liverpool Aston Villa and Chelsea.
