Super Eagles to Play Friendlies Against Portugal and Poland in June
The squad led by Eric Chelle has just competed in a quadrangular competition held in Turkey, securing a victory over Iran and a 2-2 stalemate against Jordan.
As per details from the NFF, Nigerias Super Eagles are set to meet Polands national side at the PGE Narodowy Stadium in Warsaw on June 3, followed by an encounter with Portugals team a week afterwards at a location still to be revealed.
"NFFs FIFA Match Agent, Jairo Pachon from Eurodata Sport, stated on Thursday that the fixture against Poland is scheduled for the PGE Narodowy Stadium in Warsaws city centre on 3rd June, whereas the encounter with Portugal is lined up for 10th June in Portugal, pending announcement of the exact site in the near future," according to an official NFF release.
"This showdown with the Selecao das Quinas, referring to Portugals top mens squad, marks their final preparation match prior to travelling westward for the forthcoming FIFA World Cup finals, co-hosted by the USA, Canada, and Mexico this summer."
"As defending champions, the Super Eagles are also due to protect their title in the ongoing Unity Cup Tournament in London, set for 26th to 30th May."
Nigeria could not secure a spot in the 2026 FIFA World Cup after struggling to overcome DR Congo during the qualification decider in Morocco.
Nevertheless, they secured bronze at the latest Africa Cup of Nations, overcoming Egypt via a penalty shootout following a level scoreline in regulation time.
