Shocking Norwegian League Result as Defending Champs Viking Thrash Bodo/Glimt 5-0 at Home

On Saturday night Viking proved their credentials as Norwegian title holders by demolishing Bodo/Glimt 5-0 right in their own backyard.

This marked Bodo/Glimt's heaviest league drubbing since a 6-0 defeat to Valerenga back in 2019.

The scoring frenzy started just five minutes in with Danish forward Peter Christiansen netting the opener for the hosts, followed by Kristoffer Askildsen making it two after a clever pass from ex-Brondby man Joe Bell some nine minutes later.

Bodo/Glimt's backline clearly failed to adapt as Simen Kvia-Egeskog netted his first brace goal to surge Viking into a stunning 3-0 advantage by the 16-minute mark.

Kvia-Egeskog added his second strike on 74 minutes with Zlatko Tripic sealing a memorable evening for the locals by converting the fifth goal three minutes before full time.
