Serhiy Rebrov resigns as Ukraine national team manager after missing World Cup spot

The previous forward for Dynamo Kyiv and Tottenham Hotspur assumed the managerial position in 2023 and steered Ukraine to the European Championship in Germany during the subsequent year. Nevertheless, the squad could not secure qualification for the ongoing World Cup owing to a 3-1 defeat by Sweden in the semi-final of the qualification playoffs.

The announcement noted that Rebrov shall continue his association with the UAF in an alternative role.

"At this moment, it is essential to advance and implement novel strategies that will establish the groundwork for the forthcoming national side," remarked UAF President Andriy Shevchenko.

The UAF indicated that the identity of the new manager will be disclosed in due course.
