Serge Gnabry signs new Bayern Munich contract until 2028
Bayern Munich have announced that German attacker Serge Gnabry has agreed a two year extension to his deal, keeping him at the club until 2028.
The 30 year old joined the Bavarian outfit in 2017 following spells with various teams such as Arsenal, West Brom and Werder Bremen. His previous agreement was due to run out at the end of the summer.
During his time in Munich, Gnabry has lifted six Bundesliga trophies and the Champions League.
Despite earlier speculation about a potential departure, Gnabry has enjoyed a strong campaign this term, netting six times and providing five assists in 15 Bundesliga outings.
He has developed a strong connection on the pitch with Harry Kane alongside wingers Michael Olise and Luis Diaz, creating a formidable front line for the league frontrunners.
"We form a solid group and are capable of great things," Gnabry commented in an official release, noting that he "never imagined" committing a full ten years to Bayern.
"The squad, the management, the entire organisation, the supporters, the city and the atmosphere are all factors in my decision to extend. I truly feel settled at Bayern."
In total, Gnabry has registered 100 goals and 69 assists over 311 outings for Bayern across every competition.
Sporting director Max Eberl described Gnabry as "a vital cornerstone of our squad".
"He has collected every honour available here and remains hungry for success. This attitude sets an example. He embodies what Bayern stands for," Eberl added.
Gnabry has fought his way back into the Germany national side under Julian Nagelsmann, having sat out Euro 2024 at home because of an injury. He has 25 international goals from 57 appearances.
