'Semper Blou': World Cup Debutants Curacao Unveil Home Jersey at Long Last
Curacao stand among the final nations with at least one undisclosed World Cup jersey, alongside Bosnia and Herzegovina, Iraq, Iran, Jordan, Tunisia, and Uzbekistan.
Adidas introduced the blue home jersey on Thursday, accompanied by a promotional video featuring kitman Tio and Curacao supporter Brenton, famed for attending matches with his entire face painted blue.
The jersey, typically dominated by blue, showcases a wave motif on the sleeves, paying homage to the 'Blue Wave', the moniker of the national team. Subtle yellow Adidas stripes on the shoulders and collar complete the inaugural World Cup home jersey of the smallest nation ever to participate.
Adidas and Curacao launched their chic away jersey in March. The pale yellow jersey boasts orange, turquoise, and pink Adidas stripes on the shoulders, while the sleeves sport a more vibrant yellow hue.
Curacao will mark their FIFA World Cup debut on June 14th against Germany. Ivory Coast and Ecuador are the other adversaries in Group E for Curacao.
