Scottish Supporters Allowed Sporrans Over Kilts at World Cup Venues

Supporters of the Scotland national team will now be permitted to wear sporrans with their kilts at World Cup stadiums this year, following a relaxation of rigorous entry regulations.

The passionate Tartan Army plans to travel to the United States in large numbers for Scotland's return to the premier international football tournament after an absence since 1998.

Tournament guidelines initially restricted the types of bags that could be brought into venues.

The sporran, a customary Scottish pouch positioned at the front of the kilt, was at first considered oversized and non compliant with those standards.

On Wednesday, the Scottish Football Association announced that fruitful discussions with FIFA have resulted in approval for the traditional item to enter stadiums.

"FIFA have agreed that sporrans can enter the stadiums after undergoing routine security checks and examinations," stated a representative from the SFA.

"Our ticketing and membership staff at the Scottish FA continue to liaise with the event organisers to guarantee that Scotland fans receive the same warm reception at the sites as they do internationally."

Scotland's group stage opens with matches in Boston versus Haiti and Morocco, followed by an encounter with five time champions Brazil in Miami.
