Egypt Official Confirms Salah Hamstring Injury Rules Him Out for Liverpool Season Finale
The 33 year old Egyptian forward, set to depart the current Premier League title holders at the seasons close, received applause from supporters as he limped off in the 60th minute due to injury.
Liverpool has yet to issue any statement regarding Salahs fitness. Yet Hassan indicated that the key Egyptian player has taken his final bow for the Merseyside outfit.
"He has endured a hamstring rupture and needs four weeks of rehabilitation," Hassan explained to Reuters.
Following nine successful years, Salahs era at Liverpool draws to a close. His goodbye will come through a speech to the supporters after the final match versus Brentford, rather than on the scoresheet.
The team has two remaining home games against Chelsea on 9 May and Brentford on 24 May, plus an away clash with Manchester United on 3 May where Salah has often excelled, and a trip to Villa on 17 May.
As Liverpools third leading goalscorer in history, Salah has notched 12 goals and nine assists in all competitions during the current campaign.
Hassan added that Salah should be ready for the 2026 World Cup, with Egypt drawn against Belgium, New Zealand, and Iran in Group G.
Nonetheless, Salah is keen to heal in time for the North American event beginning on 11 June, preventing a recurrence of the mishap that affected him prior to the 2018 tournament.
He sustained a shoulder issue during a 3 to 1 loss to Real Madrid in the Champions League decider, and although he netted twice across two outings, Egypt exited at the group phase in Russia.
