Rosenior hopes for long-term role to steady Chelsea

Chelsea boss Liam Rosenior thinks his time at Stamford Bridge could bring an end to the clubs chaotic phase, provided he gets the chance to leave his imprint.

Rosenior took over as Chelseas fifth full time manager under the current BlueCo ownership, arriving from Strasbourg to succeed Enzo Maresca back in January.

Counting interim appointments, the 41 year old marks the ninth individual to occupy the position over the past six years that Mikel Arteta has been in charge of Premier League frontrunners Arsenal, who will face the Blues this Sunday.

The club has also seen a major rotation in players and staff during this stretch.

From the Chelsea team that claimed the Champions League title in 2021, just Reece James was still there by last September.

Thomas Tuchel, who led Chelsea to that Champions League victory over Manchester City in the final, got the sack merely four months into the new owners tenure.

Graham Potter and Mauricio Pochettino likewise endured brief stints at Chelsea, prior to Marescas 18 month spell wrapping up suddenly on New Years Day after a clash with the leadership.

When questioned about his prospects at Chelsea following a promising beginning with four victories in six league matches, marred by frustrating ties against Leeds and Burnley, Rosenior stressed that patience holds the secret to triumph.

"From this position, I aim to stay here for the longest possible duration," he shared with journalists on Friday.

"I aspire to be the person, alongside the team, staff, owners, and sporting directors, involved in crafting something truly triumphant over an extended period. That is precisely why I accepted this opportunity.

"In footballs world, the thing that grants you time is delivering results. You must demonstrate your capabilities, not only on match days but consistently.

"Each day, you have to excel with the players, from how you guide their growth, structure your training, and run your briefings.

"My wish is that this marks the conclusion of the turmoil at this club. I hope to remain for many years and deliver the achievements this club warrants."
