Rosenior Eager to Forge Lasting Success with Elite Fernandez

Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior hopes that victories on the field will persuade Enzo Fernandez to commit to the club for years to come.

The Argentine World Cup champion, who moved to Chelsea from Benfica in 2023 for a British record fee of £107 million ($144 million), has been rumoured to join Real Madrid.

"It does not bother me at all. As a top-tier talent, rumours are inevitable and beyond your control," Rosenior commented before his sides Champions League match at home against Pafos on Wednesday.

"Enzo has performed exceptionally and exceeded my expectations positively, especially with his efforts on Saturday despite being unwell and the distance he covered.

"He remains a key Chelsea player, vital to our plans, and I aim to build a successful partnership with him both now and in the future."

The 25-year-old skipped Mondays training session due to an illness impacting several Chelsea players and staff members.

In Roseniors debut in Champions League action, the Blues could secure at least a play-off spot with a win over the Cypriot title holders.

Chelsea sit 13th in the 36-team standings and would likely need triumphs in their final two fixtures, including next weeks away game at Napoli, for a shot at the top eight and a direct entry to the knockout stage.
