The 32 year old Romelu Lukaku, who has scored a national record of 89 goals across 124 caps, has opted to concentrate on improving his condition and will miss Saturdays match versus the USA along with the subsequent friendly against Mexico.

"Romelu has decided to prioritise training sessions to enhance his overall fitness levels," the Belgian Football Association announced in a statement released on Tuesday.

Lukaku has faced ongoing injury problems throughout the current campaign and has seen limited action with his team Napoli.

His most recent appearance for Belgium came in a 4 3 victory against Wales during World Cup qualification in Brussels back in June, where he found the net. He sat out Belgiums following six international fixtures.
