Ratcliffe claims tough choices at Man Utd are starting to show results
Sir Jim Ratcliffe maintains that the hard decisions which have left him unpopular at Manchester United are now beginning to deliver positive outcomes.
Since purchasing a stake in the Premier League outfit two years ago, the clubs co owner has introduced a series of contentious staff reductions at Old Trafford.
Ratcliffe has further dismissed managers Erik ten Hag and Ruben Amorim for failing to meet expectations amid his challenging oversight of Uniteds football activities.
The British tycoon and his co owners, the Glazer family, have faced backlash through protests from unhappy United supporters this season.
However, temporary manager Michael Carrick has provided Ratcliffe with some respite by leading a modest upturn, securing four victories and one draw to re enter the competition for next seasons Champions League qualification.
The INEOS chemicals firm founder spoke to Sky News on Wednesday regarding the need for politicians to take difficult stances to address key challenges.
And in relation to United, he commented: "Ive seen quite a bit of this at the football club.
"If you do difficult things, which we felt that we had to do at Manchester United. We felt like they were the right things to do. But you do become very unpopular for a while.
"Well, Ive been very unpopular at Manchester United because weve made lots of changes. But for the better, in my view.
"And I think were beginning to see some evidence in the football club that thats beginning to pay off."
