PSG's Barcola sidelined for weeks with ankle injury
Bradley Barcola, winger for Paris Saint-Germain, faces time on the sidelines for the coming weeks after sustaining an ankle injury, as announced by the Champions League title holders on Wednesday.
The France international limped off the field shortly before the 60th minute during PSG's Champions League last-16 return fixture against Chelsea on Tuesday.
PSG confirmed that he experienced a significant ligament strain in his right ankle.
The Paris outfit claimed a 3-0 triumph in the match and progressed 8-2 on aggregate, earning a quarter-final clash with either Galatasaray or Liverpool.
Barcola netted in each leg versus Chelsea, these being his opening goals in the tournament since February of the prior year.
Paris resumes play this weekend away to Nice, seeking to build on their narrow one-point edge over Lens atop Ligue 1.
Barcola has shone brightly lately, finding the target five times in his most recent six outings.
