PSG return to Ligue 1 winning ways

Paris Saint-Germain claimed their opening Ligue 1 success in three outings by overcoming Brest 3-0 this Saturday, courtesy of a brace from Achraf Hakimi.

The defending French and European title holders have recaptured the league lead, although Marseille could dislodge them with a victory against Lens during the evening match.

After 29 minutes, Vitinha executed a precise lofted ball past the Brest backline, enabling the Moroccan player Hakimi to slot home with a firm strike.

A decade of minutes afterwards, Hakimi combined with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia through quick interchanges before blasting the ball high into the net at Stade Francis-Le Ble.

Ballon d'Or recipient Ousmane Dembele came on for Hakimi midway into the second half, marking his return to Ligue 1 play following an injury sustained towards the end of September.

Brests Romain Del Castillo squandered a spot-kick in the 59th minute, prior to Desire Doue confirming the result for PSG with a goal right at the end of added time.
