Overwhelmed AGF coach celebrates Danish title : 'Difficult to comprehend what happened'

Following the victory at Brondby Stadium, Poulsen shared with Viaplay that he had attempted to shield the players from the intense excitement surrounding the title chase.

"It is hard to grasp just how incredible it is that this has finally occurred once more in Aarhus. We feel immense pride in our achievements this season", Poulsen told Viaplay.

"You can probably tell from my expression. My mouth stretches wide into a smile, so naturally, I am thrilled and pleased with our performance. At times, you aim to stay composed. At times, you pretend to be more relaxed than you truly feel."

AGF CEO Jacob Nielsen notes that a deep desire and yearning for victory have infused the club and its supporters for many years. Multiple demotions to lower divisions and severe monetary troubles have plagued the team, making this success a profound relief in Aarhus.

"We endured ridicule within Danish football. This explains the massive outburst of joy both here and across Aarhus at the moment. It truly stands out as something special", Jacob Nielsen remarked to the local newspaper Aarhus Stiftstidende.

He highlights that AGF must still make strides in attracting top talents within Danish football. Yet, he nearly vows that supporters of AGF will not face another 40-year gap before the club claims the Danish championship once more.

"One must exercise caution when making declarations in such euphoric times. This holds especially true for those from Aarhus. However, the wait will not stretch that far next time. We aim to remain competitive at the summit of the Danish Superliga."

A single matchday awaits in the Danish Superliga; AGF lead FC Midtjylland by four points atop the standings.
