Norwegian Football Association Displeased with Nike After Haaland Reveals World Cup Kit Too Soon

"Perhaps they decided to release the kit now because of the risk of leaks, I'm uncertain. But now the secret is out. And the pursuit we've been engaged in has concluded", states Jan Ove Nystuen, Head of Brand Management at NFF to NRK.

The kit was not intended to be unveiled until next Monday, but in an Instagram post, Haaland showcases both the home and away versions in partnership with the sportswear company Nike.

Neither the Norwegian Federation nor Nystuen was notified about the Instagram post intentions.

"This is typical. It makes us appear quite poorly, admits Nystuen. "But Erling (Braut Haaland) holds no fault in this whatsoever. In this case, others have disrupted the release timeline", states Nystuen.

Nystuen refutes any plans for the Norwegian FA to address the issue with Nike.

"No. It merely illustrates the intense pressure surrounding these kits. I feel we have weightier issues to contest rather than this", he remarks.

In the promotional video, Braut Haaland is assigned the mission of “finding the goods” within what looks like an escape room. Initially he discovers the home kit, then eventually locates a secret chamber containing a black away kit, which he obviously admires. "Beautiful", says Haaland.

Norway will face its opening fixture in the tournament against the champion of the FIFA Playoff mini tournament involving Bolivia, Suriname, and Iraq in Boston on 16 June.
